There are so many different styles available today, with many different messages and images. The unfortunate truth is that there are some Christian t-shirts that you can buy with messages and images that are in really poor taste.
Someone who is a Christian should seek to imitate Christ in all they do. Some of the “Christian” t-shirts out there are so offensive that they do not match the true message of the Gospel. Wearing a true Christian t-shirt gives you the opportunity to share the Word and invites people to speak to you about the importance of faith in your life. When you wear a shirt which has an ugly image or offensive message you put Christianity in a negative light for people.
When purchasing Christian t-shirts think carefully about what it says to people and whether it gives people who see it a positive impression of Christianity. Wearing a Christian t-shirt is a great way to spread the Gospel only if those who see it receive it positively. You will have a better chance of having a serious conversation with people about faith if your t-shirt is high quality and gives a positive message that will touch those who read it. You do not want to walk around with a t-shirt that is poorly made or insults people. Most people will not be open to hear the message from you if you are insulting them.
When selecting a Christian t-shirt look for one that can get a positive reaction from those who read it. The most effective Christian t-shirt will show people a little of the grace and goodness of God. A well designed t-shirt with a positive and encouraging message will be more likely to encourage a person to consider a life with Christ than one that insults people. If you have been wearing a Christian t-shirt that gets a lot of negative responses it may be time to replace it.
