3 Easy Bible Sermons Preparation Tips

June 20th, 2009 | by christionsgoodies |

Dear Pastors, are you looking for a sermon inspiration? This is very challenging, even for seasoned pastors. How do you go about it? What are you going to talk about? Which portion of the Bible are you expounding on? How do you tie everything up in a neat little bow? Can you deliver the message? You see, a lot of scripture is open to interpretation. So, if you're wracking your brain trying to write that sermon, let me give you 3 pointers that can get you started in prepartion a wisdom-filled Bible Sermon.

Bible Sermons Preparation

Start by selecing a specific Bible verse or chapter that you can to talk about. A lot of times, this will lock you into a subject. So, if the sermon message is on "Crucifixion", you're not going to stray and start talking about the "Sermon on the Mount". If you are focused on a bible verse or chapter in mind allows your message more powerful and it will be much easier to write too.

Start your sermon with a story that is personal to you, if possible. A story on a funny incident will be a good choice. The rationale for this is because you don't want the congregation falling asleep on you. If you jump right into the theological debate, you have a high chance of losing some of your congregation. Stories will add a human factor to any sermon and you should try to add stories too.

The last important point is, make your sermon simple. Veteran preachers always say, if you can't get your point across in under 10 minutes, then it wasn't worth getting across in the first place. A good method to keep your sermon short is to keep your sermon notes in point forms. Have about 3 to 4 bullet points will do.

As a conclusion, all preachers should rely on our Lord Jesus as the giver of the message. It is a good idea to pray (and even fast) before you write your sermons and you should have the inspirations to write a Spirit-fill message.
