Building A Church

If you are active in the the service of the lord, you may know how much we are often tested in his divine service. Our own ministry, for many years, had to preach out of a storefront, with barely enough money from our poor congregation to pay the rent to the building owner, much less the fund to build a church.

Apr 21st
We’ve looked at what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is, setting up your website to make it readable by the search engines and so that it tells the search engines what your website is about by targeting specific keywords. So, what is local SEO? Local SEO is optimization of your website both targeting keywords with local modifiers (e.g. churches in Trinity, FL) and with the intent of telling the search engines where your church/business/organization is in addition to what keywords are related to your organization. Search engines have quickly become the new Yellow Pages. According to some studies I saw last year from PewOnline, more than 65% of people looking for information, a product, a business, or a church start by doing an online search. That number grows each year. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if at this point the number is more like 70%. That means that being listed in the search engines is more important than being in the phonebook (though I’d do both).

So You Want To Build A Church…..
Apr 15th
We needn't look further than I Chronicles 17:1-4 to capture the heart of the challenges of a church building project. Recall King David's conversation with Nathan the prophet: "Behold, I am dwelling in a house of cedar, but the Ark of the Covenant is under a tent." David felt guilty for living in a better-constructed, more comfortable place than the Ark, and Nathan advised him to follow his heart. There was one small problem, though: Later that night, the Lord instructed Nathan tell David not to build a new house.
